Clothes evoke memories, they carry emotions and are therefore meaningful. We all possess items with a story worth telling.
This short fashion film tells the lost stories of a small town. The fashion film ‘Way Back’ has been produced in order to showcase VIMPELOVA’s AW 14/15 collection in motion and to tell the story behind the emerging label. The brand is characterized by the effortless combination of ancestral tradition and contemporary innovation.
The film plays back in World War I in an old Victorian house in East London. A time when men and women had to be apart for an undefined period of time. Men would leave and eventually would find their way back. The story shows a couple’s time together and apart and the transitions in between. The film shows a constant battle of moving forward and looking back. Through a lot of transitions and dissolving techniques this conversion is illustrated. The film pays a lot of attention to detail in order to show the high quality fabric of the garments and the delicate details of VIMPELOVA’s designs. An important aspect is the juxtaposition of the soft feminine and the robust side of the designs shown through a traditional story with modern upbeat yet soft floating music.
The classic love story and their affection despite time and space reflects the long-lasting, high quality fabric that VIMPELOVA offers her customers. The two characters are very young souls embodying love, loyalty, tradition, reliability and strength just as VIMPELOVA’s bespoke designs.
